Ramsey Abdin has been my personal trainer for over a month. I have exercised my entire life and have belonged to so many different gyms and have had personal trainers in the past. Since joining Freedom Fitness I’ve watched the trainers very carefully for 2 years. When I was ready to commit there was no question in my mind of who I wanted to work with. Ramsey is a “master” at what he does. He gives you his undivided attention and is very detailed, he watches every move you make to be sure of good form. He is highly knowledgeable not only with exercise and the body but also nutrition. His attitude is always excellent and he is very supportive. Ramsey has a mild manner but he is tough! He is a pleasure to work with.

It has only been a little over a month and I see changes in my body but more excitedly others do too! Working with Ramsey is one of the best things I’ve done for myself!

My weight gain began nine years ago. Some significant events occurred in my life and I made the choice to eat and isolate myself as a way of coping. I gained a lot of weight from making poor choices about the food I ate and I completely stopped exercising. As a result of how I looked on the outside I felt very intimidated to join a gym. A couple of years ago, I went to a personal trainer and every session with him I would get sick and I became tired of him telling me how “big” I was. I stopped going to him after a couple of sessions.

In March of this year, I got tired of being tired of myself. I decided to dig down deep inside of myself and figure out what I wanted from life and so many of my goals required me to be healthy and strong both physically and emotionally. I realized I had been denying myself for far too long so I joined Freedom Fitness.

It actually took me until June to have to courage to walk through the front doors and start working towards my goal. When I signed up I knew I needed to make a commitment to work with a personal trainer. As motivated as I was, I just didn’t trust myself to not fail again and I knew that if I had an appointment with a trainer I would show up.

Rusty Jeffers was assigned to me and honestly, the first night that I came in to meet with him I was scared. I had never seen such a huge guy in person. I thought that he was going to kill me, or worse yet, make me cry, but decided to trust the process and not quit.

I seriously thank the powers that be everyday for assigning Rusty to me. I have found him to be very professional, knowledgeable and kind. I’ve learned so much about what my body can do and about the machines that are in the gym.

In my life, I have noticed that there are people that can do a job and then there are those that are just natural at the job. Rusty is a natural. He is intelligent and an expert in his field. I am grateful because I’m accomplishing my goals and gaining my confidence back through his wisdom, support and encouragement.

I started training in June and have lost 30 pounds in 3 months. In addition, I have lost a total of 8 inches in my waist and hips. Rusty has helped me with my diet and I have made some significant lifestyle changes with his advice. Now, I actually go to the supermarket and buy food and cook my meals which has helped with my ability to lose weight.

I cannot say enough good things about Rusty and his ability to help you accomplish your individual goals. I love that my body is starting to develop some muscle tone and I feel strong which is a feeling that I love because I know through discipline, hard work, and someone like Rusty, the possibilities are endless.

Working with Tom has been an experience in itself, having him train me gives me the motivation and knowledge to improve my physical and mental health and it’s something that can’t be taken for granted. Every day I feel even better, tasks become easier, and with every day I see results in the way I move, my mood, and over all quality of life. Training with Tom is a unique experience, and the intensity that I work at gives me the ability to do whatever I want. Before I met Tom my life was boring, and I sat at home all day, or I was in my car, always just doing as little as possible, because it’s all I thought that I could do. Tom’s (aka: TP, Superman, Tommy-Tom-Tom) Fit-X Program has been the one and only workout program that has shown real results in my many years of working out! I’ve done years of Pilates, Gyro tonics, Group Classes, etc. Tom’s Fit-X program produced muscle strength and tone, weight and fat loss, and most of all, gave me a feeling of accomplishment and confidence! After fracturing my left femur, followed by a left hip replacement when the bones did not knit as expected, I depended on Tom to teach and encourage me to get back my mobility and strength. On behalf of the Foothills Food Bank and Resource Center please accept our grateful thanks for the most generous donation of 66 lbs of food that we received July 15, 2009. You have certainly helped us to serve the less fortunate in the Foothills area by giving us the resources that enable us to better provide for them. We are a small food bank and rely only on donations such as yours.

Yes, we have people in need in the Foothills area. The majority of our clients are people like you and me that have fallen upon hard times. They may have lost a job, or illness may have put them behind, or some unexpected emergency that is beyond their control. They could be your neighbors.

As a matter of information, it takes approximately 30 pounds of food to feed one individual for 3 days. We estimate the cost, if the client had to purchase the food to be approximately $64.00. We also give financial assistance for rent, utilities, medical bills and auto repair when proof of need is given. Thus, dollar donations are just as vital to us as the actual food.

In your endeavor to help, it shows that you have compassion for the less fortunate. You enable us to give service to those people in need. Please continue to think of us in the future.

I’m in the best shape of my life and I wouldn’t be here without Traci Hall!  In June of 2008, I was 205 pounds, couldn’t sleep, had headaches and was under the largest amount of stress I’ve ever experienced.  I joined a local club and got a call from Traci asking me to come in for free training.  I was immediately impressed with Traci’s knowledge of the body and her credentials but mostly her style.  I told her I wanted to be able to dance again and really was focused on health and was done with fad dieting.  I was fearful of exercise because as I got older and tried to work out, I would hurt myself every time!  Traci assured me that we would start slow and work up to doing things, some times I thought she was crazy.  Her knowledge of the human body and what it can do and how and when to push it made all the difference.  I’ve lost 33 pounds, wear a size 12 and my body looks amazingly different.  Most importantly, I feel great!!!  I can easily move around (like get up and down off the floor), walk and have started running again with no pain!!!  It feels like a real miracle because it has literally been 15 years since I was able to run.  Thank you Traci, you are a true miracle worker!!!

Working with Ramsey Abdin is the best thing I have ever done for my health! Following a couple of years of life changing events, I began to work with Ramsey to improve my general fitness and strength, and to lose the excess weight I had gained. Ramsey has been my personal trainer for the last 5 months. During this time I have lost 15 lbs, my flexibility improved, I began to tone up and I have finally begun to fit into those clothes sitting in my wardrobe that I could never throw out because I would one day hopefully fit into them again. My posture is improving, and I have been getting a huge amount of compliments from friends and co-workers saying they have noticed a huge change in the way I look. Six months ago I started training with Rusty Jeffers because I was getting into a rut with my own workout routine. I started to “cheat” working out by myself, and I also developed some lower back pain by working out incorrectly. I realized that I needed a trainer who could push me to the next level and to give my workout routine a boost. Rich, I just wanted to issue a compliment for your entire child care staff. I am very happy that they give my child individualized attention and have gotten to know her likes and interests. They go above and beyond their expected duties. That is very important to me. Most of the workers know that my baby loves to watch the Wiggles and so they let her watch her favorite show. I think that is so nice and I just wanted to say “Thank you!” I have gotten to know Reyna the most because I usually come when she is working. She is excellent with children. Dear Freedom Fitness
I knew it was time to make a change in my life as I turned the golden age of 50. I have been pursuing different methods to getting healthy and getting into shape. I have been struggling for years now from over coming asthma, major allergies which included tons of different medications, Diabetes 2 with its own baggage of medications, and recently recovered from a shoulder injury. I found myself without any energy. I did get to a point when finally I was feeling healthy enough to embark on the next step.

I needed a personal trainer and received a phone call from Ramsey Abdin. He asked if I could come in and sit and chat with him to discuss the possibility of him becoming my trainer. His professionalism, attitude and knowledge of getting fit won me over and I signed up right on the spot! Of course he was willing to work with my sometimes impossible schedule. I must say Ramsey is very patient, flexible and willing to work with his clients to accomplish their goals. Ramsey’s training techniques, along with his nutritional advice are generating very impressive results. I have lost inches and lost some weight too but, what really matters the most to me is my recent medical examination. My doctors were ecstatic with the laboratory results! My glucose range is down considerably, both cholesterol levels are also down and my diabetes is under control. I am finding myself with tons of energy – enough to tell everyone that I feel better now than when I was 40!

I have signed up again with Ramsey for another training session. I strongly believe that by the time that this session is over I will be healthier as well as physically stronger to continue toward my goal.

I am a 41-year old male, and I’ve trained with Natalie off and on for sometime, following both her nutritional and exercise guidance.

Whenever I was “on the program” doing as she coached, my results were quick and predictable: I would consistently lose 1-3 pounds a week. However, consistency on my part was a problem. I usually strayed from the program and stayed heavy, uncomfortable and unhappy.

In February 2008, at age 40, I was tested and informed by my doctors that I had a bad thyroid, high-cholesterol, high blood-sugar and low bone density. I was at risk of heart disease and diabetes, they said, if I did not turn things around. I weighed in at 213 pounds and 41% body-fat, and my waistline was 40 inches.

I knew then I had to follow Natalie’s program consistently and seriously. All she asks is that you follow what she says. I am hungry at times, yes, but never starving or miserable. The workouts are strenuous but always give you a sense of satisfaction when you’re done.

In short, it is easy to succeed with her. You just must do it consistently. It took me a long time to learn that.

One consistent year later, at age 41, I now weigh in at 168 pounds and 19% body fat!

I look and feel 100% better. My friends can’t believe how much different I look; people comment on my new appearance almost daily. My doctors say all my disease indicators (cholesterol, blood sugar, bone density, etc) are in “normal” to “above-average” ranges now. I have energy and a brighter outlook on life.

Every day as I put on a pair of 31-inch waist pants, I realize that not a second of effort with Natalie was wasted. I only wish I’d done it sooner. There’s no other trainer in the gym I’d rather have done it with – she made me comfortable in my own skin again.

I’ve had chronic lower back and neck pain, problems, etc. now for 27 years. I had spent a lot of time, money, and enduring constant pain on trying to reverse and stop the problems. Working out for me was very difficult, because everything I tried to make me stronger, would cause my back/neck problems to flare up that I would be bedridden and out of commission for a week at a time. This has been very difficult because I’ve always been 100% involved in all sports - very athletic.

I finally decided to check out Freedom Fitness. My friend who belongs also spoke highly of it. When I met Ivan, he asked me of my intentions/goals for myself I explained in detail about my past, consistent pain/problems. I was interested in a personal trainer because I wanted someone who knew the equipment and what is best for me. We talked more in detail about a personal trainer for me. I said I would be very interested, but only if she is experienced with chronic pain, rehabilitation, therapy, stretching, will listen to me when I explain the pain I am having, but will push me, and is challenging. Ivan hooked me up with Tana, and she is the perfect match.

Tana has a lot of experience with how the body works, muscles, and anatomy. Because of this knowledge, she has been able to work with me to get my core stronger with little stress on my back. If a particular exercise is putting strain or pressure on my back, I immediately tell her, and she has another exercise that will strengthen the same spot, but without affecting my back. This has been the most amazing thing that Tana can do. I am now able to do movements and fitness that I have not been able to do for over 27 years. I always like to be challenged and pushed to my limit. Tana is able to do this, yet keeps me from over-exerting myself, knowing that it can cause damage.

The best example of my improvement, and how my body has been transformed into a much stronger one, that now protects my back is the following: At the beginning of my second session with Tana, I pointed to the elliptical machines. (I did not even know the names of them.) I said that I had seen them on TV and knew a lot of the “stars” used this on a regular basis for their cardio. I had always wanted to try it, and would she show me how. I got on and Tana showed me how to work it It was on the lowest resistance. I “pedaled” three times and immediately stopped, yelping that it really hurt my knees and lower back Tana told me not to worry, that I will eventually work up to it, when the rest of my body got stronger. I just got frustrated and thought to myself, I’ll just stick with the recumbent bike for life. Oh well.

About a month and a half later, I was working out on my own – a cardio day – and just finished about 20 minutes on the recumbent bike. I was looking over at the elliptical machines (which I did often), and decided to just try it again. So what if it hurt, I just wanted to try. I went over and got on. The first minute, I did not feel any pain at all. This was fun! Would it start hurting in a couple minutes? Well, 20 minutes later, I was having the time of my life. No pain whatsoever. I decided to stop — not too much in one day now. I couldn’t wait to tell Tana. And everyday since, I do my cardio on the elliptical, which I absolutely love. I work at all elevations, and usually now work at a 6-10 resistance. Lots of variety. Amazing and loving it! In three months, I have lost 20 pounds (almost all fat) and 26.25 inches. Equally amazing is the weight I am now lifting/pushing on the machines, the machines I am now able to use, and the strength I have, that I never thought I would have again. This is just the beginning. I signed up for another 32 sessions with Tana and can’t wait to see how she will continue to help me transform my body into a more efficient, stronger, lean machine.

I am so thankful for the amazing support I have received at Freedom Fitness. All the staff and so many club members have been my cheerleaders. I also have gals at my church who hold me up in prayer. But most of all, my trainer, Alex Stanisic is the reason why I have been successful in losing 100 pounds. I worked hard and tried almost every weight-loss program but I still could not lose weight. My sleep apnea had been life threatening. It caused me to gain weight and created multiple health problems. Both my dad and brother died of heart attacks at age 55. I was 61 when Alex offered me the opportunity to meet with him for a free nutritional consultation. I had to promise him to follow his instructions and started to lose weight immediately. Between February 25 and November 20, 2008 I lost 100 pounds. Alex started to train me as well in March. Alex has literally saved my life. My body is now stronger and healthier. The health issues I had are either gone or significantly reduced. My doctors are so happy for me. I can also enjoy other activities like horseback riding and hiking.

It has made all the difference having a highly qualified trainer. Wow! Here in Cave Creek I found a world-class trainer who also has a degree in nutrition. He has a track record of helping others lose significant amounts of weight. I feel very blessed that he offered to help me. We are successful because we have well-defined roles. Alex takes the lead as the trainer and I trust him to be able to switch out my exercises or foods to force my body to lose weight. He watches my weight very closely. Alex told me that I needed structure which he gave me and is my biggest encourager. We communicate openly and I know that he will not let me fail.

The things that I enjoy about training with Alex are that he is the first of all very professional and knowledgeable. I feel very safe with him because he knows me, my body and how far he can take me each session. He is always ready to catch a strap or save me from some self-inflicted injury. Alex is very non-judgmental when we have to discuss issues regarding my weight. He also has the greatest sense of humor. He has always gone the extra mile to call me if he senses I need help. He promised me that he would never let me get comfortable in my training sessions. I am very grateful to him for all he has done for me. Keep watching the further transformation! To me, the “freedom” found at Freedom Fitness is two-fold. For starters, the concept of freedom is exemplified by all of the male and female ex-military personnel who have served our country (e.g. the owner, Rich, and many others) and now operate the gym facilities to give their members the freedom to work out. This regimental influence remains in the gym still today, as evidenced by all of the clocks on the walls set to military time and the degree of professionalism exhibited by the staff. The idea of freedom is also personified by the gym in that its members have the freedom to enjoy and train in the valley’s premier health club. I’ve never joined a gym before, so Freedom Fitness is my first. I’ve been a member for a year and I really couldn’t be happier. The staff greets me warmly when I come in, and by name. I usually go twice a day, and I’ve never had to wait for a machine. I don’t use a personal trainer, but I see several of them regularly, everyone of them is a true professional. They seem to work with their clients on a very personal and caring level. That’s nice to see. The owner of Freedom Fitness, Rich Draizin, is totally hands-on. He’s always there when I’m working out. In December 2007, four months after delivering my first baby, I sought out a personal trainer at the LA Fitness where I was a member at the time. During my pregnancy, I put on a generous 60 pounds and felt I needed assistance to take off the weight. When my husband and I moved to Cave Creek I was still several pounds from being back to my pre-pregnancy weight and figure. Shortly after moving we joined Freedom Fitness. Soon after, I signed up with Tom Perrin for two 1-hour training sessions per week. I have thoroughly enjoyed working with Tom the last couple months. I am currently two pounds away from my pre-pregnancy weight, having lost a total of 58 pounds. I have also lost over 8% body fat in 12 months. I couldn’t have come this far on my own and I thank Tom immensely for the skills he has taught me and for helping me achieve my goals.

Your suggestion was to gather testimonials from our clients. Instead, at this time, I’ve decided to write a testimonial of my own.

After twenty five years of managing a business I have seen and experienced more situations than many can imagine with pressures quite often beyond my control. I have been a Freedom Fitness member since about July of 2008, and have known Tom Perrin for over a year or so now and was also one of his clients when he trained at Ikei performance center. I have grown to become good friends with Tom and enjoy training with him and couldn’t imagine training with anyone else.

There have been days when he wasn’t my favorite person in the world but I only know it is because he wants to see me succeed by reaching my goals and is committed to doing everything he can to get me there. I am glad he is at Freedom and believe he will be the most successful trainer there.

As a former division one college football player, I have worked out with numerous trainers and strength coaches and feel that I am educated on exercise science. After regularly working out with Ramsey for the last three months I have re-evaluated how much I know. Ramsey has taught me about exercise movements and range of motion techniques that I had not used or heard in all my years of training. He has also helped me with my diet. I travel a lot and he has also helped me find better options while on the road. The best part about training with Ramsey is the workout itself. The intensity of the training is great! He is focused on me the entire time and doesn’t get distracted when he is with me. I am feeling better, seeing results and having some of the best workouts I have ever had. I would recommend Ramsey to everyone. As a matter of fact, I recommended that my wife train with him as well. Now, she hates every male trainer that she has had in the past and would only workout with women trainers. But, she gave him a try, and with no surprise after working out for six sessions with Ramsey she changed her perception of male trainers. She said to me that Ramsey is better than any trainer that she has had male or female. Needless to say she is training with him multiple times per week.

Just a quick note of thanks to everyone at Freedom Fitness for the “Fit & Fine in ‘09” challenge, it was just what I needed to get motivated. Two years ago this June I was up to 252 pounds and felt terrible, now I am less than 10 pounds from my goal of 190. Winning this competition was a great rush, especially when you were counting those $100 dollar bills out! I just sent an email to thank Ramsey Abdin, re: results from a blood screening I had. It was sponsored by my employer. My blood pressure, all blood levels of cholesterol, blood sugar, tryglicerides – all at the optimum levels. The contest and his help with dietary questions and tips have helped tremendously.
